COSMETIC SAFETY REVIEWS
The requirements for a review of cosmetic ingredients is laid down by the European Union Council under Directive 93/35 EEC and the UK Cosmetic product (safety) Regulations 1996 (SI 2925). These documents, together with subsequent amendments, require that cosmetic products, sold in the EC, must have their ingredients been assessed for safety and suitability of use as a cosmetic ingredient. R & M Consultancy has written numerous safety reviews for cosmetic companies. Although the format for these reviews are not stated in official documents, the format used by R & M Consultancy has been assessed and accepted by major cosmetic retail outlets as well as government inspectors during a visit to one of our clients.
